Lynn Latt Htun has always been fascinated by technology’s ability to solve real-world problems. Computer engineering appealed to her because it combines hardware, software and artificial intelligence to create practical solutions that can improve safety, efficiency and everyday life. Through coursework and undergraduate research, she has developed a strong interest in intelligent systems and their potential to serve communities. Lynn is a member of the Kellogg Honors College (KHC) and participates in the KHC Club, International Student Club, Asian Pacific Islander student community, Society of Women Engineers and IEEE. She also conducts undergraduate research on SHIELD, a deep learning-based framework for suspect detection and evacuation routing being prepared for publication as an IEEE conference paper. Off campus, she volunteers at her Burmese Christian church and enjoys hiking, traveling, badminton and photography. The Myanmar native credits her parents’ sacrifices, encouragement and values of hard work, humility, resilience and compassion for guiding her as an international student. Lynn hopes to develop technologies that combine embedded systems, artificial intelligence and computer vision while mentoring future engineers.
