The Polytechnic Experience

Here, you won’t just learn to teach music—you’ll practice it. Design and lead workshops, assist with rehearsals, and create interactive lesson plans for diverse students. Collaborate on projects like composing for the classroom or organizing student performances, all through a hands-on, polytechnic approach.

Courses

The Pedagogy (pre-credential) option prepares you for a career in music education, specifically in schools. The program satisfies the "Subject Matter Competency" requirement for the Single Subject Credential in Music, equipping you with pedagogical skills necessary for effective teaching. The curriculum includes hands-on teaching experience through internships and practicums, alongside core courses like "Intro to Music Education" and "Beginning Conducting." This option is ideal for those passionate about teaching music and aiming to become credentialed music educators, combining theoretical knowledge with practical teaching skills.
