Export Controls: About Us

The Export Controls Office at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona supports the university’s mission of teaching, research, and global engagement by helping faculty and staff understand and comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations. These laws regulate the transfer of certain technologies, services, software, and information to foreign nationals and foreign countries in support of national security and foreign policy objectives.

Our office provides guidance and assistance related to sponsored research, international collaborations, international travel, and international shipping. Compliance with export control requirements is a shared responsibility, and we work collaboratively with principal investigators, staff, and university leadership to facilitate compliant activities while maintaining an open academic and research environment.

We encourage early consultation and are available to assist with questions related to research, international activities, and export compliance.
