Undeclared FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions For Undeclared Students
You can graduate within four years as an undeclared student if you declare your major by your first year to a nonimpacted major. If you are interested in an impacted major, you will need to work closely with your Undeclared advisor on developing a roadmap.
Contact the department chair or an academic advisor in the major you're interested in.
In collaboration with your advisor, you'll follow the Major Declaration Guide to meet the major declaration requirements and submit your Change of Major petition.
The Undeclared program offers various opportunities for you to explore different majors by partnering with the colleges, Career Center, and other campus partners to give you information about all the majors CPP has to offer and what kind of careers you can pursue with the major you choose.
You can declare a major as early as the spring semester of your first year at CPP. You must declare a major during your first year.
All undeclared students are required to meet with the Undeclared advisor at least once per semester before registering for the following term. You will get a hold on your account every semester to remind you to meet with the undeclared advisor. You can make an appointment through CPP Connect. The Undeclared Advisor is located in the Student Services Building (first floor, blue counter). You will check in with the Bronco Advising Center.
Frequently Asked Questions For Exploratory Students
First, you will need to meet with your current academic advisor and share your interest in changing majors. You will then meet with the Undeclared, Exploratory and Pre-Health Professional Advising Coordinator for further advising on the requirements to change your major.
You might still be able to change your major. If you believe you might want to make a change, you can always speak to an academic advisor. Majors are more adaptable than most people think: many graduates discover that their majors provide them with a wide range of transferable abilities, and that people from different backgrounds and majors work together.
