Catalog Information

Applicants must complete the following 15-unit comprehensive pattern of college preparatory subject requirements with a "C" or better. In addition, your qualification for admission is based on a combination of your grades and your scores on either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT).  Students in the top third of their high school class have excellent potential to succeed at our University. If you have completed 60 or more transferable semester college units (90 quarter units) prior to transfer, you are considered an upper-division transfer student, and the following requirements must be satisfied:
  • Have a college grade point average of 2.0 or better in transferable units attempted (2.4 or better for non-residents)
  • Be in good standing at the last college/university attended
  • Have completed or will complete prior to transfer 30 semester units (45 quarter units) of general education requirements with a "C"or better.

You are considered an international applicant if you hold or will be holding U.S. visas as students, exchange visitors, or in other nonimmigrant classifications. 

The CSU has supplemental requirements in the admission of foreign nationals. Foreign nationals who are not graduates of Cal Poly Pomona will be accepted as graduate students only if they hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada or have comparable academic credentials from a foreign country.

You are considered a graduate & post-baccalaureate applicant if you are applying for a master's degree, seeking credentials, or enrolling in graduate courses for personal or professional growth. 
You will be considered for admission if:

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • For unconditional admittance, a GPA of 3.0 or higher for undergraduate and post graduate work.
  • Foreign students must have a TOEFL score of at least 580.
  • Pass the Graduate Writing Test (GWT)
