Bachelor of Arts (BA)

Music Industry Studies Option (MIS)

The Music Industry Studies (MIS) B.A. degree produces well-rounded, critical-thinking graduates who are prepared for creative and professional lives in music. The MIS coursework prepares musicians for a wide variety of careers in the music and entertainment fields as well as for teaching opportunities and further graduate study.

The MIS option’s interdisciplinary curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in music theory, musicianship, history, performance, production, recording technology, and business—as well as a well-rounded university education. MIS students complete internships in music and entertainment organizations as an integral part of this curriculum.

Please note: There is no audition required for admittance, meaning you do not need to audition to be admitted into the MIS program. However, ALL incoming music students must audition for placement in the program and for scholarship opportunities.
