Strategic Plan 2025-2027: Celebrating Successes & Transitional Extension

October 1, 2025

Dear Campus Community,

I write today in recognition of the remarkable progress that we have made together on the 2017–2025 Strategic Plan. Over the past eight years, we encountered challenges none could imagine. From a global pandemic to unprecedented political turmoil to several leadership transitions, we persevered. We overcame the obstacles we faced, and we led with dignity, grace and a resilience unmatched.

Among our tremendous accomplishments are the strides made through the Graduation Initiative, the innovations that you, your teams, faculty and departments made to keep us moving forward in this shifting landscape of higher education, like our micro-internships initiative, that meaningfully enhanced student learning and success. These achievements are more than milestones; they reflect the heart and hard work of so many across our campus.

You will find a summary of these accomplishments on the Strategic Plan webpage. I encourage you to explore the report, take a moment to reflect, and celebrate what we have achieved together.

As we look ahead, this year is a time of transition. The search for a new President is underway, and soon a new planning process will shape the next chapter of Cal Poly Pomona’s story. In the meantime, our strategic initiatives remain steady pillars to guide our work, with our new goals set out in the 2025–2027 Transitional Plan. This bridge plan aligns with CSU systemwide priorities, reflects the lessons we have learned, and, above all, keeps student success at the very center of all we do.

Our learn-by-doing ethos and our commitment to inclusive, polytechnic excellence continue to light the way. I invite you to take pride in all we accomplished together.

With appreciation,

Dr. Iris S. Levine
Interim President
