Applications are due on Sunday, April 28 th 2019.

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance for an interview by April 30, 2019 and should be prepared to be interviewed between May 1 and May 10, 2019.


Course Description

ESTEAM is a year-long course in which multidisciplinary teams of students take a new product/service from concept to the market place. In ESTEAM, you work in cross-functional teams to identify a customer pain/gain, create and prototype a viable solution, develop business, marketing, and financial plans, source for materials, produce and market the product/service, and meet specific financial and strategic objectives. You will use you functional expertise to coordinate with students from other disciplines to ensure the successful launch of a new product/service. Satisfied GE Area B5.

Why Take The Course?

So that you can gain experience in technology innovation and starting a business! The hallmark of a Cal Poly Pomona education is its emphasis on “learning-by-doing.” This course will give you the opportunity to apply what you have learned in your functional specialization to collaboratively design, build and take a new product/service to market.

Course Prerequisites

You must be an upper division student with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Professors

Nastaran Simarasl (College of Business Administration) and Kenneth Lamb (College of Engineering) will coach the cross-functional teams.
