Opus String Ensemble
About the Opus String Ensemble
The Cal Poly Pomona Opus String Ensemble invites you to apply your skills on Western classical string instruments while studying and performing a wide range of repertoire for string orchestra and chamber ensembles.
The ensemble provides a supportive, performance-centered environment where you can deepen your musical understanding through collaborative rehearsals and performances.
Ensemble Experience & Musicianship
As part of the Opus String Ensemble, you will gain experience rehearsing and preparing music for class performances, concert settings, and recording environments.
Ensemble participation strengthens skills in intonation, tone, rhythm, blend, and expressive musicianship, while also fostering leadership in ensemble settings and refined collaborative communication essential to professional-level string performance.
Auditions & Enrollment
Membership in the Opus String Ensemble is by audition only.
You are expected to demonstrate preparation, technical proficiency, and a commitment to ensemble excellence.
