2023 Outstanding Faculty Advisor - Dr. Elli Menounou (Political Science)

Since joining CPP, Dr. Elli Menounou has demonstrated tremendous interest and initiative in helping students successfully navigate their college careers.  She serves as faculty advisor to over 40 PLS majors, meets with them regularly, and writes numerous letters of recommendation for them throughout the year.  She oversees the department’s judicial internship program and serves as an advisor for all CPP students interested in pre-law.  In addition, she is the faculty advisor for the Undergraduate Journal of Political Science and oversees the department’s alumni relations, keeping in touch with students after their graduation.  She does this all as an effective communicator sensitive to the unique needs of our students.

2023 Outstanding Staff Advisor – Annette Mastin

Annette Mastin oversees all components of the CLASS Student Success Center (SSC). She ensures full coverage of the SSC, plans workshops, leads team meetings, attends university-wide committee meetings, oversees summer orientation for all incoming CLASS students, and develops and fosters professional relationships with university partners.  She developed and implemented a survey for students who attend advising appointments, which resulted in data to enhance the student advising experience, and ideas for possible workshops. Annette created peer advisor (PA) and social work intern positions for the SSC. She collaborated with two advisors to develop and implement a training plan and regularly checks in with student assistants to ensure their success.

Congratulations to Dr. Elli Menounou and Annette Mastin!!!  Thank you for your outstanding service to students.
