Emphasizes solving business problems with computing technology, including developing strategic information systems, implementing enterprise-wide systems and creating Web 2.0 applications. CIS students choose one out of three career tracks to specialize in:

  • Applications Development: Client- and server-side web development, secure web applications, e-commerce application development, secure web application and android mobile app programming
  • Information Security and Forensics: Contemporary operating systems, IT infrastructure, telecommunications networks, information systems auditing, network security, information security and computer forensics
  • Business Intelligence: IT infrastructure, systems analysis and design, data warehousing, digital analytics, data mining, big data analytics and advanced data analytics

College of Engineering

Students apply theories and principles of physics and mathematics to the design of hardware, software, networks and processes to solve technical issues. Students obtain hands-on knowledge in circuits, electronics, computer software, hardware, control systems and digital system design.

Undergraduate Curriculum

College of Science

Students learn how to design, build and implement computer software and prepare to enter fields in computer design. Curriculum strengthens a foundation in computer programming languages, computer architecture and the design and application of computer algorithms.

Students can specialize their knowledge in information assurance and security, wireless communication networks, machine learning, high performance computing, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cryptography, information security and big data analytics.

Computer Science Courses

Students are provided a foundation in data science and are trained to work with big data using computational and statistical techniques and tools. They conduct a research project and apply data science to real-world challenges. Courses include data analytics and cloud computing, data mining, machine learning and database systems.
