Early Bird Activities

You've arrived early, now what? Get a jumpstart on your day with the following optional activities before your official kickoff and welcome from President Quiñones:

  • Campus Tour: Explore campus highlights and learn about CPP’s history during a 30 to 40-minute guided walking tour.
  • On-the-Spot Admissions: Thinking about applying for Spring 2027 or Fall 2027? Want an admission review? Submit your unofficial transcript(s) to us when you register for Explore CPP and you may receive a same-day admission decision! 10 - 11:10 a.m.

Program Welcome

Join us as we welcome you and your guests to Cal Poly Pomona, with programming that includes:

  • An official welcome from President Quiñones
  • A brief overview of what to expect at Explore CPP and how you can make the most of your visit
  • Attendees will be split into two breakout sessions:
    • Admitted transfer students: Review your Admitted Student Action Plan (ASAP) with Admissions
    • Prospective transfer students: Hear from a panel of current CPP transfer students, presented by PolyTransfer 

11:15 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Explore Cal Poly Pomona

There's plenty to explore at Explore CPP! Build your Bronco experience by exploring our various stops in the University Quad, Bronco Student Center, and University Library to discover the breadth of Cal Poly Pomona's resources and get a taste of campus life.

  • Academic College Showcase: 
    Explore your academic possibilities in the University Quad! Connect with CPP’s academic colleges to learn about majors, programs, hands-on learning opportunities, and student projects. Meet members of our Bronco community and discover how we become by doing at Cal Poly Pomona.

  • Resource Fair:
    Discover life beyond the classroom in the University Quad! Meet representatives from campus services and student clubs that support and enrich the Bronco experience. Explore resources available to CPP students — and you may even catch a student club performance along the way!

  • Next Steps Center:
    Everything you need to become a Bronco — all in one place! Visit the Next Steps Center in the University Library to ask questions, get personalized guidance, and learn about your next steps. Representatives and resources include:
    • Office of Admissions
    • Financial Aid & Scholarships
    • Registrar’s Office
    • New Student Programs & Family Engagement
    • Student Accounting & Cashiering Services
    • CPP Application Lab
    • Financial Aid Application Lab

  • Swag Pick-Up:
    Don’t leave without your Explore CPP swag! Stop by the swag tent near the University Quad and Campus Center to claim your free Explore CPP tote bag. Be sure to screenshot your event check-in confirmation when you arrive — you’ll need to show it at pick-up. Available while supplies last.

  • Bronco Bookstore:
    Gear up, future Broncos! Enjoy 15% off CPP merchandise during Explore CPP and find the perfect gear to show your Bronco pride. Shop at the Bronco Bookstore (Building 66) or visit the pop-up shop in the University Quad.

  • Campus Dining:
    Exploring can work up an appetite! A variety of campus dining locations will be open during Explore CPP, giving you plenty of options to grab a meal, snack, or coffee throughout the day. Options include Starbucks, Burger Envy, and Choolaah, just to name a few.

  • On-Campus Housing Tours:
    Discover your future home! University Housing Services staff will be available to lead tours, answer your questions, and help you explore CPP’s on-campus living options. Transfers can tour the Residential Suites in Building 60. Come take a look at what it’s like to live in the Bronco community!

  • BSC Games Room:
    Take a break and have some fun! Visit the Games Room inside the Bronco Student Center (BSC) and enjoy billiards, gaming consoles, air hockey, and more. Free play is available to all Explore CPP attendees. 

  • BRIC Tour:
    See where Broncos recharge and stay active! Tour the 165,000-square-foot Bronco Recreation and Intramural Complex (BRIC) and check out its impressive 51'8" climbing wall and 13' bouldering wall. Stop by and see this popular student space for yourself!

  • W. Keith & Janet Kellogg University Art Gallery:
    Experience creativity at CPP! Visit the gallery and explore University Permanent Collection: A Proposal in Real Time, featuring works by CPP alumni and faculty, along with faculty from across the CSU. Discover the creative talent, artistic community, and collections that help make CPP unique.

  • The Don B. Huntley Gallery:
    Step into a world of creativity and inspiration! Explore a dynamic collection of professional, faculty, and student artwork at The Don B. Huntley Gallery. Located on the fourth floor of the University Library in Building 15, Room 4435, the gallery showcases the creativity and innovation of CPP’s College of Environmental Design.

  • The Maker Studio:
    Where creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship thrive. Tour the Maker Studio on the second floor of the University Library and discover a creative space where Broncos turn ideas into reality. Explore the tools, technology, and resources available to help students design, build, and create projects for class or personal use.
