Thank you for your interest in joining my research group at CPP. I involve both undergraduate and graduate students actively in my research and am thrilled you want to be a part of the lab. Working in a lab is a big commitment and I would like students in my lab who are dedicated to the work and enjoy conducting research.
To apply to conduct research in the Snyder Lab, please answer the questions in this google form. In completing this form, provide as much information as possible. All information that you provide will be kept confidential. This will be a good exercise for getting a head-start on applications for post-graduate programs, professional schools, and jobs!
Undergraduate Student Research Opportunities
I require several things before students are considered to join my lab:
Two letters of recommendation that need to be sent directly to me
Permission to view your transcripts
Enrollment in 1-2 units of BIO 4610 (research supervisory units) for the semesters you are working in the lab
Once all of these have been received, I will schedule two short interviews with you. The first one will be with my students in the lab. I think it is important to make sure that you feel like you will be able to work in the lab with the other students (so this interview is just as important for you as it is for me). The second interview will be with me. In this second interview we will talk more specifically about potential projects, time commitment and expectations.
Graduate Student Research Opportunities
Graduate students are an integral part of my research. In addition to filling out the google form, please contact me directly to see if I am currently accepting graduate students. More information on the Biological Sciences graduate program at CPP can be found here.
