About Me

Shannon Heffernan, AICP, is a Prinicipal Planner for Dudek's Planning & Urban Design (P&UD) Studio in Pasadena. Over the past 17 years in consulting, she has worked with agencies and communities in Southern California on the revitalization and transformation of downtowns, station areas, and key sites with TOC Plans, Specific Plans, and visioning studies. All of her work includes creative stakeholder engagement, consensus building, and community empowerment to create context-specific design solutions. Passionate about the public realm in our cities, Shannon served on the Downtown Long Beach Alliance (DLBA) Placemaking Committee for three years and regularly is an expert panelist on tools for vibrant main streets and integrating sustainable housing through innovative approaches to create walkable communities. Shannon is a Cal Poly alumni, with a Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and has an Executive Master of Urban Planning with a concentration in Real Estate Development from the Sol Price School at USC.
