About The Library

Giving to the Library

Cal Poly Pomona’s University Library is the literal and figurative heart of campus. Serving over 4,000 students on a typical day, the library is a cornerstone of the CPP student experience. It seamlessly blends digital resources and state-of-the-art technology with traditional holdings and personalized support. Our expert librarians and staff encourage discovery, creativity and collaboration, and expand the knowledge students gain in the classroom. Your support can dramatically enhance our students' learning journey.

Make a Difference

The University Library thrives on the generosity of alumni, faculty, staff, corporations, foundations, and friends like you. Your support is crucial in elevating the services we provide to students on their academic journey:

  • $500: Provides textbooks for one university course to the library, allowing students to borrow instead of buy

  • $1,000: Purchases laptops and other electronic devices that students can check out through the tech lending program

  • $5,000: Helps to fund a year-long subscription to an electronic database, granting students free 24/7 access to vital resources

  • $10,000: Funds a student internship for two semesters, offering them valuable experience and job skills

  • Additional opportunities include: Secure naming rights to enhance physical spaces; establish endowments to support collections; fund student scholarships; and sponsor librarian positions to expand services.

Fundraising Priorities

Strategic High Impact Programs

Your support ensures students can access cutting-edge resources and conduct research in signature university programs such as Cybersecurity & Big Data, GIS, and AI. Your contribution is vital in maintaining access to the most up-to-date research in these critical areas.

Signature Collections

The University Library is home to Cal Poly Pomona's rare books and archival collections. The collections center around themes relevant to the mission of the university and are available for use by all interested users. Collections range from the Fairplex Collection, documenting over 100 years of the LA County Fair, to one of the largest publicly available equine research collections in the country with the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library and the Carleton F. Burke Collection.

Special Collections and Archives encompasses the University Archives, the Southern California Wine and Wine Industry Collection, the Pomona Valley Historical Collection, and the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Library. Your financial gifts will fund the purchase of archival supplies, digitization of materials, and creation of digital exhibitions, preserving our rich history for future generations.
