A closed stack collection of short-term loan materials placed on Course Reserves for instructors and students enrolled in their classes, plus various other materials needing special handling.
Faculty-owned books, course-related library books, textbooks, course readers, Cal Poly Pomona senior projects, 3D models, juvenile book kits, & whiteboard kits.
Currently registered Cal Poly Pomona students, faculty, and staff as well as Open University students, I-Poly High School students, and special program enrollees. All users MUST present a valid Cal Poly Pomona Bronco Access Card, or University Library Card. Refer to Circulation web pages.
The same hours as the library. A schedule of library hours, by semester, is available at any public service desk or on the library website.
Loan periods vary from 2 hours to 28-day checkouts and are designated by the instructors for their courses. Fees are assessed at $0.50 an hour to $1.00 per day with a maximum fee of $100.00 per item.
NO. Course Reserves material cannot be renewed.
Yes, but not consecutively. You must wait one hour after returning the hourly material before borrowing it again. The wait time for daily loans (7 to 28-day loan) is one day until you may borrow it again. The exception to this rule is if there is more than one copy available in Course Reserves.
Course Reserves materials may be returned at one of our two, on-campus return bins. The first one is located adjacent to the Student Services Building. The second bookdrop is located outside of the Bookstore ear the 24/7 Bronco Lockers, facing parking Lot 'G.' Please visit our Returning Materials page for more information.
Course Reserves materials may be retrieved at the Circulation Desk. To retrieve material from Course Reserves you will need to provide the following information at the Circulation Desk: course and/or instructor or information on the item(s) you are searching for. You may see if your instructor has items on Course Reserves by performing a Course Reserves search in OneSearch.
No. All Course Reserves material are loaned on a first come first serve basis.
Course Reserves requests are processed as soon as possible. For materials to be ready for students to use the first day of class, instructors should submit the materials before the semester starts. Once the beginning rush is over, it may take 2-3 working days to process the materials.
Checkout the Affordable Learning Initiative campaign that provides access to resources that will help faculty choose and provide quality, accessible content that is more affordable for their students. This can be in the form of digital textbooks, open educational resources (OERs), open courseware resources, publishers' repositories, eBooks, the book rental program at the bookstore, textbooks on reserve in the library, and full text journal articles online.
