Courses

Cal Poly Pomona's Management and Human Resources option in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration equips students to become effective professionals through a "learn by doing" philosophy and the "teacher-scholar" model. Focusing on management, human resources, and entrepreneurship, the department aims to produce graduates who are both productive and responsible citizens. The Management in Human Resources curriculum is designed to be flexible and adaptive, offering three key areas of emphasis. The Management and Leadership emphasis prepares students for effective roles in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. The Human Resources Management emphasis covers all essential HR functions, including training and development, and aligns with Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) certification requirements. The Entrepreneurship emphasis guides students through the process of generating business ideas and developing business plans, culminating in the launch of their own enterprises. This comprehensive approach ensures students are well-prepared for success in various organizational settings.

“I originally entered the program with little to no knowledge or experience of the digital marketing industry, but the projects and work we did for a real client have established my perspective of marketing, and I can put many of the projects we have done on my resume.”
