About the Scholarship for Service Program
The CyberCorps®: Scholarship for Service (SFS) program, funded by the NSF and co-sponsored by the DHS, aims to increase the number of cybersecurity professionals in government. The program provides full tuition and fees for up to three years, annual stipends, and a professional allowance.. Upon graduation, participants must work for a government agency in a cybersecurity role for a period equal to the length of their scholarship. More information is available on sfs.opm.gov.
We are currently accepting applications until February 28th, 2026.
Scholarship Components
- Up to 3 years of support for undergraduate and graduate (MS or PhD) education.
- Academic-year stipends of $27,000 per year for undergraduate students and $37,000 per year for graduate students.
- Tuition and education-related fees (do not include items such as meal plans, housing, or parking).
- Professional allowance of $6,000 for SFS Job Fair and other travel, professional certification, etc.
- Participation in virtual and in-person job fairs in Washington, D.C.
- Post-graduation government service requirement for a period equivalent to the length of the scholarship.
Student Eligibility
- Be within the final two years of an eligible cybersecurity degree program at Cal Poly Pomona at the time of acceptance.
- Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or a minimum graduate GPA of 3.2.
- Be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Be eligible for federal employment.
- Participant in cybersecurity activities while attending Cal Poly Pomona.
