CEIS Student Council Announces Its Priorities
The 2017-2018 student representatives for the College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS) will be: Liliana Perez, president; Sonny Quintana, vice president; Ereeny Kamel, director of finance; and Zane Landin, director of communications.
CEIS Student Council is responsible for overseeing the five clubs of the college. Council also functions as the official representative body within student organizations and the Associated Students Inc. (ASI).
Among their top priorities include maximizing exposure of CEIS and providing more opportunities for CEIS students. “CEIS is very small, so it’s often overlooked. I would like to build awareness surrounding our college, and get more students involved in our activities,” said Perez, a Liberal Studies major.
Kamel, a Liberal Studies major, would like to prioritize collaboration between CEIS clubs and other student organizations on campus. “My priority is to manage our budget so that we can incorporate more events for the students,” she said. “I want to make sure that we can host as many events as possible, not only between our clubs, but also with other student organizations on campus.”
Other priorities include increasing engagement. “My aim is to enhance faculty, staff and student engagement in order to work more efficiently,” said Quintana, a Liberal Studies major. “Ultimately, I want to further strengthen our relationship.”
Landin, a Science, Technology and Society major, said his priority is to provide outstanding service to CEIS students. “My goal is to be a diligent officer for the CEIS students,” he said. “I am here to help in any way that I can.”
“I am excited to work with new and returning CEIS student leaders and I look forward to advancing the council,” Perez concluded.
