Star Party on the Rooftop
Physics and Astronomy students, supervised by Prof. Matt Povich, hold regular star parties on the roof of Science Building 8. Typically three telescopes are setup, and according to Dr. Povich students organize most of it themselves. A recent Poly Post article featured the Rooftop Star Perties of our Physics and Astroonomy students. Jill Sandoval, our Administrative Support Coordinator for the College was quoted: "The students are a wealth of information, and it reflects well on their department. And the young kids just love it since they don’t have access to something like this everyday.”
