Dear Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Cheryl Koos to the position of Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs within the division of Academic Affairs, effective July 15, 2024. Her selection is the result of a national search that identified several impressive candidates.
Dr. Koos comes to Cal Poly Pomona from Cal State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH), where she served as the Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs and Development for the past five years. Prior to CSUDH, she spent 20 years at Cal State Los Angeles, where she served as Professor of History and taught courses in modern European political, social, and cultural history. She also served as chair of two departments and as Interim Associate Dean for Faculty and Student Development of the College of Natural and Social Sciences. She is a Professor Emerita of History at Cal State Los Angeles and received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Southern California.
