Food Science Graduate Student To Present at CSU Competition

Ben Steiner

A food science graduate student was chosen to represent Cal Poly Pomona at the 32nd Annual California State University Research Competition.

Ben Steiner will present his project on “Tenary Complexes Through Maillard Conjugation of Sodium Caseinate, Dextran and Resveratrol to be Used as Emulsifiers” at the March 4-5 event, which will be held at Sacramento State.

Steiner, who has been admitted and offered doctoral research assistant position in molecular nutrition at Cornell University, is one of 27 Cal Poly Pomona students who will make 10 presentations at the conference.

The students were chosen based on their participation in Cal Poly Pomona’s 6th Annual Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Conference held on March 2. That conference included 135 oral presentations, 59 posters, and one music performance.
