Refer a Student of Concern

When to Submit a Referral

If a staff, faculty, or student perceives unusual, concerning or indicative of distress then a referral should be submitted:

  • Lack of responsiveness
  • Food/housing insecurities
  • Financial stressors
  • Clothing assistance
  • Excessive absenteeism
  • Classroom disruptions
  • Clear signs of distress
  • Erratic behavior
  • Observed self-injurious behavior
  • Alienation/isolation from others
  • Violent or aggressive behavior
  • Threatening words or actions
  • Communications (written or verbal) that convey clear intentions to harm self or others
  • Extreme/sudden changes in behavior

The Care Center team works alongside faculty, staff, and students to address student behavior requiring multiple responses while at the same time balancing the needs of the student with those of the greater Cal Poly Pomona community.
