March 10-11, 2023  - Democracy Institute at Ahimsa Center Conference

 

History majors (and CPP students, faculty and staff) are invited to attend the inaugural event of The Democracy Institute at Ahimsa Center scheduled for March 10 and 11 at Kellogg West. The two-day program, organized by History's Dr. Aishwary Kumar, is entitled "After Life: Identity and Indifference in the Time of Planetary Peril," and features a fascinating line-up of speakers and events. September 15, 2022 - History Department Fall Kickoff (RESCHEDULED)

 

Mark your calendars now for the annual History Department Fall Kickoff event, to be held Sept. 15 (Thursday) during U-Hour (12-1 p.m.) on the SECOND-floor veranda in Building 94 (the floor below the History Department offices). You'll get to meet faculty, staff and other students; there will be food, and we'll also hand out a few History Department awards!

 

September 13, 2022 - Pre-Credential Option Workshop
 

Interesting in teaching social studies at the secondary level? Dr. Michael Slaughter will be hosting a workshop on the pre-credential option of the major on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 12-1 p.m., in Building 1, Room 309. He will go over the pre-credential option itself and your path towards obtaining a teaching credential, and will answer all of your questions afterwards!

 

August 2, 2022 - Dr. Eileen Wallis NYAM Presentation 

 

Dr. Eileen Wallis will offer a virtual presentation (via Zoom) focused on her research into California’s early efforts to develop and align its efforts to treat the mentally ill and disabled populations. The talk, sponsored by the New York Academy of Medicine, will take place on Aug. 2, from 1-2 p.m. Click the link below for registration information!
