Admissions Requirements
Admission to Cal Poly Pomona’s Online Master of Science in Computer Science program is competitive. Applicants should have an undergraduate computer science background, or equivalent preparation in the principal computer science and mathematics subjects required for graduate study.
The online MSCS is open to students who hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. The admission to this program is based on the holistic view of the following criteria:
- Preferred qualifications for admitted students are an undergraduate degree in computer science or related field (typically computer engineering or electrical engineering) with a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Applicants who do not meet these criteria will need to demonstrate basic capability and knowledge in computer science including fundamentals of programming, data structures, and algorithms.
