Vector and Pest Management

Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) performs assessments and investigates pests and vector cases on campus using an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach. IPM is a strategy that utilizes biology and engineering controls, culture modification, and limited use of EPA approved chemicals to manage and reduce the risks of pests, potential health hazards, and property damage.

Depending on the potential hazard, EH&S collaborates with Facilities and Planning Management, San Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District,  as well as third-party contractors to resolve matters of high concern.
