My Teaching

Over the 30 years, I developed and taught courses in physical geography, GIS, climatology, multimedia mapping, environmental modeling with GIS, Geography of California, and graduate courses in Regenerative Studies including research methods courses. I have received extensive training in online teaching pedagogy and had been designing, developing, and teaching online courses since 2005. Currently, I am teaching Physical Geography Lab, Climatology, and Geography of California, all online. I believe that the most effective learning occurs when students are excited about the class, are actively engaged in the learning process and are getting timely feedbacks on their learning – with this believe, I place my focus on designing and adopting learning activities that motivate and engage students to interact with the course materials, classmates, with various feedbacks in the process. I encourage and work with students to apply what they learn in the classes to real world problems that are relevant to them.
