Family members and supporters play a critical role in student success at Cal Poly Pomona, and we want to make sure you have the information you need to support your student. The Bronco Family Orientation Experience provides a comprehensive introduction to CPP resources, programs and support services.

Bronco Family Orientation

Family members and supporters of newly admitted students are invited to participate in a Bronco Family Orientation on the same day as their student's Orientation Day. The Bronco Family Orientation is a separate program from student orientation. Those wanting to participate can be registered when the student submits their orientation registration. The $85 guest fee covers your parking, breakfast and lunch, commemorative swag, and programming.

Orientation Overview

Check-in and Welcome

Check-in begins at 8:00am for students and guests. Please ensure you head to the appropriate check-in booth, student or guest, which are alpha split by last name. The joint morning welcome will begin at 9:00am in Kellogg Arena.

Campus Tour and Resource Fair

The Bronco Family Orientation will include a short campus tour and resource fair. Parents and supporters will be able to connect with campus partners to better understand support services and resources offered to their student.

Commemorative Orientation Swag

Each registered guest will receive exclusive CPP merchandise that has been created just for orientation attendees. These items will not be available for purchase and commemorate your orientation experience.

Conference Style Sessions

Those joining Bronco Family Orientation with a freshmen will have the opportunity to select sessions around topics most useful for their family and student. Sessions include presentations from University Housing Services, Office of Student Success, Campus Events and Belonging, Understanding Culture of Care, Parent and Student Panel, and even sessions in Spanish.

Bronco Family Reservations

Students can add up to two guests when they make their orientation reservation through their student portal.
