Update on Timely Warning Crime Bulletin:

Yesterday afternoon, University Police Department (UPD) officers arrested two individuals in connection to the burglary that occurred in Building 54 (Vista De Las Estrellas Residential Suites) and referenced in the July 11 Timely Warning Crime Bulletin. The individuals are not affiliated with Cal Poly Pomona, and there are no other known suspects at this time.

Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is urged to call UPD at 909-869-3070. Anonymous tips can be provided by calling the Anonymous Tip Hotline at 909-869-3399.

Campus safety is our top priority, and all members of the campus community play an important role in ensuring a safe campus environment. We encourage everyone to review the following safety tips and resources for students, faculty and staff.

How to Stay Safe:

  • Report suspicious behavior or criminal activity immediately to UPD. If you see something, say something!
  • Look out for one another.
  • Ensure windows and doors are secured.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Secure valuables and ensure they are not visible when unattended.
  • In the event of an emergency or to report suspicious activity, first get to a safe place. Contact UPD by calling 909-869-3070, using the Code Blue emergency phones on campus or by calling 9-1-1. If you haven’t already done so, please save UPD’s direct line in your cell phone.
  • Use Cal Poly Pomona’s Safety Escort Service, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including weekends, holidays and breaks. Call 909-869-3070 to arrange for an escort. Escorts will be provided to and from campus buildings, campus parking lots, immediate bus stops and areas immediately adjacent to campus property.
