Design and Production

The Polytechnic Experience

Develop and produce a line of clothing to sell at the Bronco Bookstore. Attend industry tradeshows, intern with established and emerging brands in the fashion creation and retail sectors, present research and creative work at academic conferences, and even study abroad in Italy.

Courses

Cal Poly Pomona's Design and Production option in the Bachelor of Science in Apparel Merchandising and Management (AMM) offers a thorough education in apparel product development, technical design, and production management. This option blends creative design with practical production skills, preparing students for various roles in the fashion industry. The curriculum features hands-on learning through real-world projects, including garment construction, digital design, and the use of advanced prototyping facilities, providing experiences equivalent to two years of industry work. Located in Los Angeles County, a major fashion center, the program allows students to engage directly with industry practices and trends. Graduates are equipped to take on roles in product design, development, and production management.
