About the Program

Design a clothing line from scratch and see it through to production alongside fellow artists and visionaries. With our blend of technical and creative aspects of design, you’ll get your hands on hardware, eyes on industry-level software and watch as people all over campus wear your heart on their sleeves. The Polytechnic Approach

Develop and produce a line of clothing to sell at the Bronco Bookstore. Attend industry tradeshows, intern with established and emerging brands in the fashion creation and retail sectors, present research and creative work at academic conferences, and even study abroad in Italy.

Courses

By focusing in Apparel Design and Production, you will not only receive a broad foundation in all aspects of the apparel design and retail industry, but you will also gain advanced training in apparel construction, product development and production processes. You will carry designs from initial sketch to retail delivery through digital design labs, working in production facilities and producing a fashion label for sale. Our program balances rigorous classroom training with real-world applications and hands-on projects equivalent to two years of industry experience. Based in Los Angeles County, a global fashion center, you will benefit from close industry ties and practical experiences. The curriculum prepares you for managerial and executive paths in a wide array of careers. You will experience personalized learning through small class sizes and significant faculty mentorship, ensuring you receive tailored guidance and in-depth business knowledge. With opportunities for internships with major brands, participation in industry tradeshows, and study abroad programs, you will be well-prepared to thrive in all areas of design and production.
