Program Outcomes

Bachelor's in Mathematics Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will progress from developing and applying procedural/computational mathematics to being able to employ axioms, definitions, logical reasoning, generalization, and abstraction to produce written proofs in a variety of mathematical and statistical areas.
  2. Students will become skilled at communicating their mathematical and statistical knowledge orally in a variety of settings.
  3. Students will become skilled at interpreting and generating visualizations, illustrations, and graphical representations of mathematics and/or statistics in order to communicate mathematics and/or statistics with a variety of tools in a variety of settings.
  4. Students will develop proficiency in fundamental programming skills within a mathematical context.
  5. Students will develop knowledge of and an appreciation for the different theories and theoretical topics in the mathematical and statistical sciences.
  6. Students will be able to apply statistical methods to generate statistical inferences and solve practical problems.
