Work Experience

The ABM department helps students to arrange internships or work experience opportunities with food and agribusiness firms located in the Los Angeles and Southern California areas. At the end of the work experience opportunity a detailed evaluation form is filled out by the students’ supervisor and given to the students’ professor. The student will need to complete an assigned paper at the end of the employment period to receive a letter grade for three units. At the end of these work experience opportunities many companies will extend a job offer and sometimes even a full-time job for the student upon graduating. During a work experience opportunity the student is expected to demonstrate good work ethics, which includes punctuality, team work, good attitudes, and job completion.
