Businessman and longtime agricultural education supporter Jim Hicks poses with Cal Poly Pomona President Soraya Coley and then-Dean Mary Holz-Clause with the Jim Hicks Agricultural Achievement Award in 2015.
The Huntley College of Agriculture is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Jim Hicks Agricultural Achievement Award.
The award is given to an individual for his or her accomplishments in the agricultural industry. The award is named after businessman and longtime agricultural education supporter Jim Hicks, who was the inaugural recipient of the award in 2015.
The college will present the award at its 5th Annual Farm to Table Spring Harvest Dinner at AGRIscapes on April 2020.
Started in 2015, the annual event is the college's celebration of agriculture and food. It features local chefs cooking foods grown locally, including some raised by agriculture students at Cal Poly Pomona using sustainable practices.
A portion of the dinner proceeds will go toward hands-on, educational opportunities for students in the Huntley College of Agriculture.
To submit a nomination for the Jim Hicks Agricultural Achievement Award, fill out this form by Aug. 5, 2019.
