The Department of Political Science is hiring in IR/Comparative to start in the 2020-2021 academic year

The Political Science Department in the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for appointment beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year. Candidates specializing in international relations and/or comparative politics are especially encouraged to apply.

The faculty member will be part of a small, collegial Political Science Department which grants a B.A. degree, and which also has a Master’s in Public Administration. The faculty member will primarily teach courses in international relations and/or comparative politics. A faculty member specializing in international relations will be expected to teach courses such as International Law, International Political Economy, and US Foreign Policy. A faculty member specializing in comparative politics will be expected to teach courses in a regional specialization other than Latin America. The ability to teach undergraduate research methods, whether qualitative and/or quantitative, will also be expected. The position requires excellence in teaching and advising, professional and scholarly achievements, and a commitment to service to the university. Research interests related to social or racial justice, gender inequities, and/or inequality would be a plus.
