Students in the Cal Poly Pomona College of Business will have a unique opportunity to explore the fast-paced world of casino business management during a special event featuring executive leaders from Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel. The event will take place on Thursday, April 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. and is part of the Career Hub (CBACH)’s Behind the Business series.
This behind-the-scenes program will introduce students to the business operations of one of Southern California’s most recognized and sophisticated enterprises. Yaamava’ Resort & Casino is far more than a regional entertainment brand — it is a complex organization spanning hospitality, entertainment, finance, marketing, compliance, risk management, security, and information technology.
Since 1986, Yaamava’ has built a strong reputation as a premier destination in Southern California, welcoming millions of guests each year for gaming, dining, and live entertainment. As one of the largest private employers in San Bernardino County, the organization plays an important role in the regional economy and offers a wide range of career opportunities, including paths pursued by Cal Poly Pomona alumni.
The event will feature insights from senior executives across multiple business functions, giving students a real-world look at how leadership, strategy, and collaboration drive success in the casino, hospitality, and entertainment industries. Featured speakers include:
- Jennifer Anthony, Senior Vice President, Marketing
- Paul Camacho, Vice President, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance
- Steven L. Gomez, Chief Physical Security Officer
- William “Will” Menard, Director of Information Security Operations
- Sarah Webster, Senior Vice President, Casino Finance
- Glenn Wilson, Chief Information Security and Risk Officer
Students who attend will gain an insider perspective on casino business management, hear directly from industry leaders in marketing, finance, compliance, cybersecurity, and security operations, and explore career paths connected to their majors and professional interests. The program will also highlight how different business functions work together inside a high-profile organization and what effective leadership looks like in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
In addition to executive presentations, attendees can participate in a fun challenge with swag giveaways and stay for an interactive Q&A session to connect with business leaders and ask questions about careers, industry trends, and professional growth.
This event offers a valuable opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world business practice while discovering new possibilities in hospitality management, risk management, finance, information security, and entertainment business careers.
