On Monday, July 29, 2019, we had the pleasure of hosting a Court of Master Sommelier Certified Sommelier Exam. Among the candidates were three Cal Poly Pomona alumni: Kristen Rinck , CRAFT Beer and Wine, Wesley Savin , Journeyman’s Food and Drink and Tyler Silvestre, Sama Sama Kitchen.
As described by the Court, this one-day exam is focused on the candidate’s ability to demonstrate proficiency in deductive tasting, wine & beverage theory and both technical as well as salesmanship skills in table-side service.
We are pleased to announce that the three CPP alumni among the candidates and all three passed this difficult exam to earn the credential, Certified Sommelier.
An extra congratulations to Kristen Rinck , CCHM 2018 alumna, who was awarded the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates Walter Clore Scholarship for earning the high score!
It is a pleasure and honor to welcome Master Sommeliers to campus. This exam was coordinated by Peter Neptune MS. Master Neptune was joined by fellow Masters Randall Bertao , Catherine E. Fallis and Jason Heller.
