The College of Professional and Global Education (CPGE) pays tribute to three exceptional employees who were recognized at Cal Poly Pomona’s 2026 Fall Convocation on August 17, 2026, for their outstanding contributions through years of dedicated service to the university. Collectively, the honorees have given 70 years of their lives to advancing the excellence of CPP.
The honorees are:
- Larisa Preiser-Houy – Dean of CPGE -35 years of service
- Arnold Ulgado – Graphic Communication Specialist – 20 years of service
- Jennifer Cousens -Student Services Officer – 15 years of service
Each of the three honorees makes extraordinary contributions through their talents and skills, institutional knowledge, and a shared vision and passion for helping Cal Poly Pomona and the communities it serves.
During her 35 years at CPP, Preiser-Houy has been a force behind the scenes, providing wise guidance and leadership in her role as the dean of CPGE, helping it deliver high-quality education and experiences to students while promoting innovation and enriching the academic offerings of the college.
Ulgado, who has been with CPGE for the past 20 years, has provided creative design and graphic communication services that have helped advance and promote its academic programs, outreach, and impact, both, locally and internationally. His work has helped tell the story of CPGE.
Over her 15-year tenure at CPP, Cousens has been a trusted advisor to countless students navigating their way through the university to achieve their educational goals. She provides excellent student services that support and empower them to be successful.
The Cal Poly Pomona Years of Service Recognition is an annual event designed to honor the outstanding contributions of faculty and staff who have made a significant impact on the university through their sustained and exceptional service to Cal Poly Pomona and the communities it serves. The event is traditionally held at the Fall Convocation where the university recognizes employees who have demonstrated excellence in their work, providing exemplary service to students, faculty, staff, and alumni, over a period of 10-to-50 years of continuous service.
CPGE congratulates the three honorees once again and appreciates their extraordinary contributions, professional excellence, and loyalty to the university.
