The following describes planned maintenance and upgrades by the Division of Information Technology and Institutional Planning (IT&IP) and technology service providers over the next seven days.

Explorance Blue Course Evaluation Maintenance

Summary: Explorance will perform planned maintenance on Explorance Blue, their course evaluation service on Friday, April 25, from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What does this mean to me? Course evaluations may be partially or completely unavailable during the maintenance period.

Planned Maintenance Times

Thursdays, 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., midnight.
Sundays, 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
IT Service Status

During these times, online services may be briefly unavailable without advance notice.

CPP adds additional GenAI Tools with ChatGPT Edu

Cal Poly Pomona and The California State University recently launched OpenAI's generative artificial intelligence (AI) tool ChatGPT Edu, for students, faculty and staff. Log in to ChatGPT using their cpp.edu email or from the Online Services page in MyCPP.

What is ChatGPT Edu?

Similar to Microsoft's Copilot, ChatGPT Edu is an AI-powered chatbot and personal assistant designed to enhance productivity and simplify day-to-day tasks for higher education institutions. Use ChatGPT to support activities like:

Drafting reports, checking grammar, and assisting with communications.
Brainstorming ideas and potential solutions.
Simplify complex projects and help with documentation.

What to Expect with ChatGPT Edu

Account Activation

Log-in to ChatGPT using your cpp.edu email or from the Online Services page in MyCPP, at any time.

If you already have a ChatGPT account tied to your cpp.edu email:

IT&IP advises you to export and back up your conversations and any Custom GPTs before joining the Edu workspace.
If you have a paid subscription tied to your cpp.edu email account, it will be automatically canceled when you join the Edu workspace.
- Note: CPP Enterprises and ASI employees are not included in this project. Please check with your supervisor about migrating your account.

Guidelines for responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)

The CSU and Cal Poly Pomona have guidelines for the responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). These guidelines are not intended to prohibit, prevent, or inhibit academics, research, or creativity but to safeguard data, and personal information. GenAI or comparable tools must not violate any CSU or CPP policies.
