Career Outcomes
Courses
The Multilingual Teaching option provides you with the opportunity to become a multilingual educator for young children. California is a culturally and linguistically diverse state with a growing need for a strong multilingual early learning and care workforce. You will specialize in a language (such as Spanish) so that you can become a dual language educator. You will take courses in the English and Modern Languages department and Ethnic and Women Studies Department to strengthen your language and cultural understanding. The culminating course requires you to complete 60 hours in a dual immersion early learning and care setting and apply what you have been learning in your classes. Interact with children and families under the supervision of a mentor teacher and faculty member. The Early Childhood Studies department is one of the few programs in Higher Education to offer this unique preparation.
