About the Program
Change the lives of some of the youngest learners by helping them grow in their foundational skills, including relationship development, problem solving, conflict resolution, and inquiry and exploration. The Pre-K to Grade 3 option allows transfer students to obtain the competencies to become transitional kindergarten (TK) teachers. You will receive a combination of teacher preparation and early childhood development coursework. This option is specifically for ADT elementary teacher education transfers.
The Polytechnic Approach
As an elementary education transfer, you will dive right into courses and fieldwork relevant to your degree. You will build upon your fundamental courses by learning the sociocultural contexts surrounding and supporting young children, then apply your knowledge. Through an intersectional approach to teaching, direct classroom experience with a mentor teacher, service learning, practicum and more, you will kickstart young children’s academic, social and emotional growth and prepare for your dream career in pre-K to elementary education.
