The institute, formerly the Institute of Irrigation Research and Evaluation, was formed in 1986 to provide a more formal mechanism for the Agricultural Engineering faculty to work with the irrigation industry on the testing and evaluation of irrigation equipment and systems. During this time, we have provided valuable services to several companies, papers have been written and presented, senior projects and master's degree projects have been completed, and students have gained valuable experience working part time in the lab.

Purpose

The Institute has recently expanded to include expertise in turf and landscape, and has been renamed the Center for Turf, Irrigation Technology (CTILT).
