The Huntley College of Agriculture has a new interim dean.
Professor Hyungchul Han of the Department of Animal & Veterinary Sciences will fill that post effective immediately.
“Dr. Han brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to our leadership team,” said Ethan Orr, dean of the Huntley College, “and we are confident that his contributions will be invaluable to our continued growth and success.”
A search for a permanent associate dean will begin this fall, Orr added.
For the past year, Han has served as chair of the Department of Animal & Veterinary Sciences.
Han, who also was named the college’s 2024 Teacher of the Year, came to Cal Poly Pomona in 2018 from Colorado State University, where he was an associate professor.
Prior to that, he was a research scientist at Korea Cancer Center Hospital, and postdoctoral fellow at the University of Nevada and Oklahoma State University. Han earned his doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
He replaces Professor Gabriel Davidov-Pardo as the interim associate dean.
