Cal Poly Pomona’s annual Broncos Give initiative once again demonstrated the power of collective generosity, with the College of Business Administration (CBA) playing a pivotal role in advancing student success and experiential learning.
Held March 18-19, the 36-hour online fundraiser raised $686,914 from 1,687 donors, marking the most successful giving day in university history. For the CBA, the initiative translated into tangible momentum, generating $28,995 from 75 donors to support programs, student organizations, and hands-on learning opportunities that define the college’s “Become by Doing” philosophy.
CBA and Singelyn Family Dean Sandeep Krishnamurthy brought energy and visibility to the effort through a personal challenge that turned giving into action: for every $250 raised, he completed a push-up, and for every $1,000, he ran a lap around the CBA building. The effort underscored the college’s commitment to engaging the community while reinforcing the impact of every contribution.
Donor support continues to directly shape student experiences across the college. Contributions to initiatives such as the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) provide students with access to real-world tools and collaborative learning environments, such as the Bloomberg Financial Markets Lab and Singelyn Center for Innovative Analytics.
Support for the CBA extended across a wide range of student-focused initiatives, including the Bronco Investment Club, the Forensics and Security Technology Club, MISSA, SWIFT Student Club, and Women in Business. Matching challenges and donor incentives further amplified impact, including a fully realized $10,000 SMIF donor challenge and a triple-match campaign benefiting MISSA.
Campuswide, Broncos Give also fostered a renewed sense of connection, highlighted by engagement events such as the inaugural Broncos Give Happy Hour at Innovation Brew Works. These moments reinforced the university’s legacy of philanthropy, rooted in W.K. Kellogg’s original vision to transform lives through education.
For the College of Business Administration, the success of Broncos Give reflects more than fundraising totals. It highlights a growing network of supporters committed to preparing the next generation of business leaders with the confidence, experience, and opportunities needed to thrive.
