The College of Business Administration (CBA) at Cal Poly Pomona is taking an exciting new step towards enacting its strategic vision to create “exemplary student career readiness” with the launch of the CBA Career Hub (CBACH), a dedicated space designed to elevate career readiness, connection, and confidence for every business student.
CBACH officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, and represents a major milestone in the CBA’s commitment to connect students with prosperous economic futures.
The initiative was led by Dr. Pia Gupta, Associate Dean of Student Success at the CBA. “CBACH represents our deep commitment to student success not only on campus but beyond. This space will empower every student to launch, lead, and thrive by bringing together the guidance, tools, and community our students need to turn their aspirations into action. It’s where career readiness becomes real through connection, confidence, and opportunity,” she said.

Located in building 164, room 1070, CBACH will serve as a central resource for all CBA students, providing personalized support to help bridge the gap between classroom learning and career success. “This is an important milestone for the College of Business,” said United Business Student Senate President Miumiu Bussarakornsirivit (’27, business administration). “In my position, I get a lot of emails from students asking for help with career planning. To see the college put action behind aspiration and truly create a space that puts all these resources in one place is inspiring. It brings so much opportunity for us as students.”
“This center is the model of what we aim to have going forward at every college here at CPP, and great to see the CBA taking the first step,” said Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Terri Gomez. “This center is here to serve our students, and it is a great joy for me in seeing it come together.” From individual mentoring to innovative workshops, CBACH is designed to meet students where they are in their professional journey. The space will feature the University Career Center’s Lead Career Coach, Beth Lee, who already serves as a dedicated advisor for the CBA. Lee will hold regular office hours in the hub to meet with students.

“Last year marked the first time the Career Center had a dedicated Lead Career Coach serving as a liaison with the College of Business Administration,” explains Lee. “In that role, the Career Center had over 4,800 touchpoints with CBA students, including over 1,600 unique and personalized touchpoints between CBA students and myself, or 32.7% of our college’s students in one year. The Career Center adheres to a career ecosystem model, where we recognize and celebrate hundreds of career development touchpoints with students throughout the University with our campus partners, alumni, and employers. It is when we work together and through these strong collaborations that we create incredible outcomes for our students.”

CBACH is more than just a resource — it’s a bridge between students and the evolving business landscape. In partnership with the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center, the Hub will connect CBA students directly to professional opportunities and industry insights.
The initiative will also benefit from the expertise of a board of industry leaders and CBA alumni, who will help ensure that programming reflects current workforce trends and employer expectations. Planned events include employer-led workshops, recruiting sessions, and interactive skill-building experiences focused on networking, communication, and leadership.
“The launch of the CBA Career Hub reflects our commitment to ensuring that Cal Poly Pomona students graduate not only with knowledge but with the market-ready skills, confidence, and connections needed to thrive in today’s business world,” says Jayson Yardley (MBA ’98), Chairperson of the CBA Dean’s Advisory Council, Director of the CPP Alumni Association, and a mentor in the Bronco Mentorship Excellence Program. “The Hub bridges the gap between classroom learning and industry needs, ensuring that our graduates are among the most prepared and in-demand professionals entering the market.”
