Innovation is more than a buzzword—it’s a way of reimagining how knowledge is created, shared, and experienced and the College of Business Administration (CBA) and Singelyn Graduate School of Business (SGSB) are leading that vision with “Pomona Pulse: Influential Research Shaping the Future of Business,” an AI-powered podcast series transforming how audiences engage with faculty scholarship.
The mission of Pomona Pulse is simple yet ambitious: turn faculty papers into inspiring podcast-style conversations for students, professionals, and lifelong learners who prefer to absorb ideas on the go instead of hiding them in journals. By meeting audiences where they are—in the car, at the gym, between classes, or during a lunch break—Pomona Pulse makes scholarship accessible, relevant, and on-demand. It is research you can actually listen to, designed to inspire action and reflection beyond the classroom.
The project first debuted in Spring 2025 and uses AI tools to digest faculty research and reshape it into lively discussions, resulting in a podcast that feels approachable while retaining the depth of scholarship. Episodes draw on research published in leading journals, including those on the prestigious Financial Times’ 50 (FT50) list.
"Pomona Pulse has transformed the way we share the groundbreaking research of our faculty. The first wave of episodes showed us how scholarship can be engaging, easy to understand, and deeply relevant. With the expansion of the series this fall, we’re thrilled to offer even more opportunities for students, professionals, and lifelong learners to access the innovative ideas shaping the future of business. This podcast is not just about research — it’s about creating connections, sparking curiosity, and making knowledge accessible to everyone," said Singelyn Family Dean Sandeep Krishnamurthy.
This fall, the series expanded with 10 new episodes, providing more opportunities to explore the passion projects and scholarly achievements of CBA and SGSB faculty. More are planned throughout the year, so stay tuned! Episodes are free on the CBA’s official YouTube channel, where listeners can find the full Pomona Pulse playlist.
