ARCHES presents workshops targeted toward student success, such as time management, study skills, career planning, graduate school planning, financial planning and financial aid.  ARCHES also works in collaboration with other university programs to provide workshops each semester on financial literacy and self-care.

Financial Aid Review & Updates on the FAFSA Simplification

Presenter:  RAMP & EOP

Thursday, 2/13/2024 from 12pm-1pm

This workshop will review the financial aid process at Cal Poly Pomona, common errors, and changes to the 2024-25 FAFSA/CADAA Renewal.

Exploring Scholarships & Writing Winning Essays

Need help paying for college? Want an alternative to student loans? Come learn about the many scholarship opportunities available, including the Bronco Scholarship Application. In this workshop, we will explore the Bronco Scholarship Portal, review the scholarship essay writing process, provide helpful tips to write competitive scholarship essays, and highlight campus writing assistance resources.

Understanding Your Credit Score

Presenter:  Schools First FCU

Now is the time to establish and build credit for your future. Wise use of credit can take you to the front door of your first home. Just a few mistakes can make your goals harder (and more expensive) to reach! This session will introduce the basic building blocks of successful credit management: what your FICO score means, how it is determined, and how your behavior can make it go up or down.
