Pre-Professional Advising

Suggested Class Schedule and Action Plan for 4-year Graduation

  • Please note: Different professional schools/programs' course prerequisites may be different from each other even when they confer the same professional degree. As such, it is important to look up the specific schools/programs that you are interested in applying to and find out their application requirements ;

  • Make a spreadsheet and list out the schools/programs you are interested in and their application requirements, including but not limited to minimum GPA requirement, Required courses, Recommended courses, any Minimum Test scores (ex. MCAT), and any Minimum Clinical hours etc. (See example below). This way, you will have a centralized place to find out what you need to do in order to be eligible to apply to these schools/programs.
School/Program A School/Program B School/Program C

Miminum overall GPA
Miminum Science GPA
Required courses
Recommended courses
Minimum Clinical hrs
Minimum test score

  • For Biology courses, once you figure out the courses you need to take, please check on the " List of Course Pre-Requisites and the " Projected Course Offerings" resources listed on the Biology Advising website before planning out your course schedules.

  • Please note, the "Suggested Class Schedule for 4 -year Graduation" listed below is a very generalized suggestion - as mentioned earlier, different schools/programs have different requirements for Calculus/organic chemistry/biochemistry etc., with some requiring 1-year while others may require zero or 1-semester only. You may want to adjust accordingly based on the schools/programs you are interested in.
