Learning Outcomes

Animal and Veterinary Sciences Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

PLO #1. The program will endeavor to provide the students with the scientific knowledge and training that would allow them to enter graduate school or scientific careers in the animal sciences.

PLO #2. The program will endeavor to provide our students the critical thinking skills necessary to solve complex, interdisciplinary problems which impact animals, people and their environment.

PLO #3. The program will promote professionalism and leadership skills, that prepare our graduates for professional school, graduate school and scientific careers.

Animal and Veterinary Sciences Student Learning Outcomes (SLO)

SLO #1. Students will apply conceptual and technical knowledge e.g. animal health, animal physiology, animal
nutrition, genetics of domestic animals, and use of biotechnology to solve animal science problems
(PLO1).

SLO #2. Students will communicate effectively in interpersonal and professional settings (PLO1,3).

SLO #3. Students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to solve complex,
interdisciplinary problems which impact animals, people, and their environments (PLO1,2,3).

SLO #4. Students will evaluate ethical responsibilities of professionals in animal science industries (PLO1,2).

SLO #5. Students will collaborate in teams to develop leadership and team building skills (PLO1,3).
