Goals

Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)
- The program will endeavor to provide the students with the scientific knowledge and training that would allow them to enter graduate school or scientific careers in the animal sciences.
- The program will endeavor to provide our students with the critical thinking skills necessary to solve complex, interdisciplinary problems that impact animals, people, and their environment.
- The program will promote professionalism and leadership skills that prepare our graduates for professional school, graduate school, and scientific careers.
Student Learning Outcomes (SLO)
- Students will apply conceptual and technical knowledge, e.g., animal health, animal physiology, animal nutrition, genetics of domestic animals, and use of biotechnology to solve animal science problems (PLO1).
- Students will communicate effectively in interpersonal and professional settings (PLO1,3).
- Students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to solve complex, interdisciplinary problems that impact animals, people, and their environments (PLO1,2,3).
- Students will evaluate the ethical responsibilities of professionals in animal science industries (PLO1,2).
- Students will collaborate in teams to develop leadership and team-building skills (PLO1,3).
