Behind the Design

These classrooms are a modern take on the basic designs with additional automation built into the controls, making it easier to operate while providing enhanced audio capabilities for classes that focus more on digital presentations and video analysis. All room operations are centralized to either a button or touch panel so there's less need to locate different controllers or worry about regularly replacing batteries.

So, what's available?

Room Controller

Controls for operating the projector and screen can be found mounted beside or atop the Instructor Station. Buttons will all be labeled with their function and the touch panel will guide you through the starting your system up with one tap.

Laptop Connections

Standard rooms come in two flavors around the campus: Analog and Digital. The analog rooms have connections similar to those that can be found in basic rooms so they may require adapters to connect to newer laptops. Digital rooms on the other hand, have updated infrastructure that provides the most common connections seen on laptops today.

Document Camera

All standard rooms come with a document camera that serves as a direct replacement to the classic overhead projector. These can most often be found mounted beside the Instructor Station in a pull-out drawer and can be displayed on the projector by switching to the Document Camera input using the rooms controller.

Webcam Support

While these types of rooms aren't designed with a hybrid modality in mind, they can still be used to host hybrid classrooms that are primarily covering topics in PDF documents or PowerPoint presentations that don't necessarily require constant student engagement with the use of an included webcam.
