News

Phishing, Fraud & Scams

The campus is currently experiencing an increase in fraudulent phishing and scam messages. Scammers often use high-stress times of the year to commit fraud with short messages designed to gain attention.

Current scams include emails or text messages related to employment, canceled accounts, missed payments, and similar topics.

Think Before You Click

If you receive a suspicious email, forward it to suspectemail@cpp.edu.

Never provide your BroncoPassword on any web form, email, or text. Only you should have access to your account.

Important: CPP staff and faculty will never ask for your Bronco credentials, password, or MFA authorization. Any request for this information is likely a phishing attempt.

Never authorize Duo Multi-Factor Authentication for another person or an unknown request. Verify senders using official channels such as Bronco411.

If You Feel at Risk

Change your BroncoPassword immediately within MyCPP Online Services or contact the IT Service Desk. If you provided personal or financial information, contact your financial institution and verify your CPP banking information.

You may also contact the CPP IT Service Desk or email the campus Information Security Officer at ciso@cpp.edu.
